I just wanna point out (again) that Sherlock flatout says that girlfriends aren’t his thing. When asked about a boyfriend he just says no. And he claims to be flattered by John’s interest. Now, why would he say that? I mean, he knows John for little more than a day and we know he doesn’t care much whether someone’s interested in him or not (see Molly). Of course you could argue that he’s trying to let John down gently because he still wants a flatmate.

I’m pretty sure that he wouldn’t treat John’s infatuation (if there were one *cough*) the same way he treats Molly, I’m also not entirely convinced that he would just “say” that he’s flattered when he’s not actually a little bit flattered.
